My daily struggle with mental health is a solitary battle that demands immense strength and resilience. To continue to confront this challenge, I've chosen to embark on a monumental journey: riding my BMX from Cairns to Perth. This ambitious goal is not only a personal test but also an opportunity to seek strength and hope for myself and others. Through this journey, I aim to connect with others, raise awareness for mental health, and advocate for suicide prevention. Partnering with the R U OK? initiative feels like a natural fit, as their approach to staying connected with those experiencing mental illness and having tough conversations aligns perfectly with why I am taking on this challenge. CARE THROUGH CONNECTION THANKYOU , even the notion of generocity is appreciated sincerly WEEXY R U OK? is a harm prevention charity that encourages people to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives. Their work focuses on building the motivation, confidence and skills of people who can have a meaningful conversation with someone who is struggling with life and connect someone to appropriate support, long before they're in crisis. With your support R U OK? can r each more Australians, inspire regular, meaningful conversations every day of the year, and ultimately change lives So please support their work by donating to my CrowdRaiser, as I know they will appreciate every cent received. And I will be very grateful for your contribution too! Also, I would be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. Perth 2024 Wildlife Ranger Walk
Please mark down 21 September 2024 in your diaries. This is the date for the Wildlife Ranger Challenge (WRC), an event organised by TUSK Trust, Prince William’s wildlife charity, and aimed at raising vitally needed funding for wildlife projects throughout Africa. This year more than 100 ranger teams spanning the African continent will unite to compete in a 21 km half marathon race carrying their typical 25kg backpack and equipment - building camaraderie and raising awareness of the hardship currently faced by those in their profession. Supporters around the world, like us, are also encouraged to bolster efforts and to join “The Global Race” by taking part with their own walk/run and donating or raising sponsorship. A number of the committee will be participating with their own effort by walking a 5 or 10km walk around the South Perth Foreshore on 21 September in support of this effort. One committee member is intending to cycle the loop 10 times to make a 100km effort. The president will be walking in London. Each will establish a fund-raising platform to raise funds for Save Valley Conservancy through this initiative. Keep a watch out in the near future to support these walkers and we would encourage as many of you as possible to consider doing your own walk, run or activity also. It’s a great chance to contribute and build on the success of the last few years of rhino conservation in Zimbabwe. All funds that we raise from this initiative will be matched by a TUSK donor. If you are in Perth and would like to come down and support those that are doing their walk in South Perth, or even do your own walk there, then the aim is to finish the energetic parts of the day by 11am at Atomic Café on Mends St, South Perth. There will then be a chance to grab a coffee/snack and to say hello and recognise the amazing job Save Valley and all other African rangers do! Also, I would be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help the better! Thank you, Committee of Save African Rhino Foundation

Hart for Hope 2024 hours
Hey guys, Over the last few years, I have undergone a number of different fitness challenges to raise awareness around sudden loss and bereavement. As some of you know this is extremely special and close to my heart. On Friday, September 20 at 9am I will attempt a Concept2 10km Row, Concept2 10km Ski, Concept2 20km Bike and a 10km road run every 4 hours for 24 HOURS. That’s correct I am planning on working continuously for 24 hours. My aim is to finish all 4 components in a 4-hour time period and repeat this 6 times finishing the challenge at 9am on Saturday, September 21 - That’s 300km covered in 24 hours. I’m doing this to raise money for the charity Hope Bereavement Care (Hope) who offer support to people who are dealing with a sudden loss. · My goal is to raise $15,000. I will complete my challenge from BeFit Studio, New South Head Road, Double Bay. I’d would love as many people as possible to get involved. Book a spot in one of the Saturday classes or jump in and join me for all or part of the row, ski, ride or run! · I’ll start at 9 am on September 20 and hope to finish by 9am on Saturday 21 Come along at any time. As well as raising money, I also want to raise awareness about the impact of sudden loss and ensure more people understand that support is available and know how to access it. Hope is a charity very close to my heart; 31st August 2024 will mark 14 years since we suddenly and tragically lost my Dad in a plane crash. It was a huge shock to our family, friends and anyone who knew him. Not a day goes by where I don't think about him and how much he's missed in all our lives. He was a huge role model to me and my sisters, and I try to instil his values in my kids. I have always wanted to organise a charity event to raise money and awareness about sudden loss and bereavement and this feels like a great way to do that! I hope that you can support me in whatever way you can – with a donation or support on the day. Instagram Handle Follow my progress throughout on Instagram. My handle is t_harty08 Please spread the word! Looking forward to seeing as many people jump onboard and participate on the day! Cheers, Tom.

2024 Wildlife Ranger Walk Nicholas
On 21 September, whilst more than 100 ranger teams are all running a 21 km half marathon in their wildlife reserves, their supporters will be walking/running for 5 or 10 km. World Ranger Challenge, a TUSK Trust initiative, Royal patron, Prince William, and their main sponsor, Scheinberg Relief Fund, have already committed many millions to African rangers. In return, all beneficiary projects are being asked to further raise some funds, which will be matched by Scheinberg Fund. Hence, my walk. At 80 years of age, I won’t have walked 4 km for quite some while, so it will be an effort to do so. But it’s for the rangers and must be done! In return, please can I ask all our 350 members to sponsor me for a modest $30 or so, or more if you wish, please? I’ve set a reasonably high target of $15,000 and look forward to your support please. Rangers walk about 20 km per day for a monthly pay of $300. This is the least we can all do for the men at the coalface of rhino conservation, the 55 dedicated rangers of Save Valley Conservancy. And remember, everything you give will be matched, and thus DOUBLED, so please dig deep. Also, I would be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help the better! Thank you, Nicholas

After decades of writing and campaigning Auntie Vickie is now in palliative care for serious respiratory and other health issues. You can hear Vickie talk about her life and work here: In and out of strife: Vickie Roach's turbulent life Please consider a regular weekly or monthly donation to help us create some safety, stability and comfort for Aunt. 2024 Wildlife Ranger Walk Storey Family
We are raising funds for the Save African Rhino Foundation - Wildlife Ranger Challenge on 21 September 2024. This is an event organised by the TUSK Trust, Prince William's wildlife charity, aimed at raising vitally needed funds for wildlife projects throughout Africa. On that day, more than 100 ranger teams spanning the African continent will compete in a 21 km half marathon race carrying their typical 25kg backpack and equipment - building camaraderie and raising awareness of the hardship currently faced by those in their profession. Four of us members of the Storey family will be doing a 5 km walk on that day 21 September, in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, in solidarity with the wildlife rangers across Africa. For those in our travel group, please join us to walk off your jetlag and support the rangers… you’ll be glad you did! And tell your family and friends what you are doing so they can support you and together we can have a greater impact! All funds will be donated to the Savé Valley Conservancy through SARF (note: the “Savé Valley”, pronounced “sa-vay”, just happens to have a name written as the verb used in the SARF name). These funds will also be boosted by the TUSK Trust, so your donations will have a greater impact yet. All funds donated in Australia will receive a tax deductible donation receipt. Please share the link to this CrowdRaiser page with your friends and family. The more people who can help the better! On behalf of the rhinos, the rangers, their family, and our shared planet… thank you! Best regards, Evelyn, Martin, Thomas and Barbara. Become a member at https://savefoundation.org.au/membership/

Unite for Ellsie
On the 21st of April, 2024, we lost our sweet girl, Ellsie, to SIDS. She was completely healthy and the happiest little girl you would ever meet. We knew SIDS existed but never thought it would happen to us. We want to do as much as we can to help the research for SIDS in memory of our princess Ellsie. We are inspired by the work River's Gift do in Stamping Out SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). The impact they make in funding vital SIDS research, delivering infant safe sleep education and advocating for the infants and families affected by SIDS, is incredible. River's Gift are Australia's leading SIDS research funding organisation. Shine Blue 2024 marks the 13th anniversary of the passing of River Waddell to SIDS in November 2011. This campaign helps shine a spotlight on SIDS, a syndrome that isn't afforded anywhere near the attention and focus that it once was. In Australia each and every year, over 100 babies still lose their lives suddenly and unexpectedly in sleep. Our target for Shine Blue 2024 is $65,000 which will be channeled to the University of South Australia (UniSA), for the purpose of developing their unique SIDS biobank resource, and driving genetic research. Please support River's Gift's work by donating to our CrowdRaiser, as I know they will appreciate every cent received. And we will be very grateful for your contribution too! Yarragon Hotel Fundraiser
We are raising funds for National Asthma Council Australia in memory of Makenzi Smart 28/09/2001-15/02/2022. From Makenzi's Mum - Kirstie xxx "As most of you know my beautiful girl Makenzi Smart aged 20 years young suffered a fatal asthma attack on the 13th of February 2022. This happened in the early hours of the morning after celebrating her brothers 18th birthday party at our farm. My husband Wayne Van Den Dolder and I had gone to bed and had been asleep for only 2 hours when a few of Makenzis friends came and woke us up to tell us Makenzi (Kenno) was having an asthma attack. She had been a severe asthmatic since the age of 3. I went up to where the last party goers were and I knew we were in trouble. An ambulance was called but I knew she wasn’t going to make it. So I put her up into her best friend Shauna Wellings Ute so we could try and meet the ambulance but she died right there in my arms. The paramedics turned up and started CPR, with the help of approximately 20 of Makenzis and Jack Vandendolders friends helping by holding torches and assisting where possible. After 40 minutes they got a light pulse and a helicopter landed in our paddock and Makenzi was taken to Monash Clayton. Both myself and Wayne and her other parents Hayden Smart and Dannii Williams rushed to Melbourne to be by her side. The medical team were amazing and very caring of Kenno and also us, making sure we knew exactly what was happening. Makenzi was on life support for the next 2 days and was too unstable to be taken for any tests but the doctors informed us that after 40 minutes deprived of oxygen the outcome was not going to be good.. Late in the afternoon of the 14th the scans showed that our special baby girl was brain dead and there was no hope of recovery- we made the decision to donate her organs as she had always been a giver and this was her last final gift. I got to have one last nap with her on the 15th Feb, our favourite thing to do together before she was taken to surgery. September is Asthma Awareness month and our very wonderful friends Renee Kemp and Chris Kemp from the Yarragon Hotel are donating all proceeds from their Friday night raffles during September to the Asthma Awareness Foundation. So make sure to get there and buy some tickets so more research can be done. Please feel free to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help the better. Thank you
