The Women's Circus is turning 35 this year and to celebrate we are putting on a Big Show in late November. We're raising money for the show this Sunday via a Handstand-a-Thon!
I have a close relationship to handstands and I don't think I ever stopped from being a kid to being an adult. When I was at Bellevue Hospital for an outpatient visit I asked one of the oral and maxillofacial surgeons if I'd be able to do handstands again. He didn't answer. But the answer was yes! I practise handstands most days. And this Sunday I'm raising money for the show with my feet in the air (against a wall most likely, or with a spotter).
You can give a specific amount or you can sponsor me for the number of seconds I'm in the air. I can usually get to one minute and I might do a few. More than four would be a stretch so you're looking at around 240 seconds tops. For the math 10 cents is $6 a minute, 20c=$12 and $1=$60. So if you sponsor me per second you don't need to go high.
Donations go directly toward making sure cost is never the reason someone misses out on the confidence, connection, and joy that social circus brings. Every dollar helps — and every share helps even more.
Thank you for your support!
